The Corn Dolly Clock
£25.00
A3 print of fine liner drawing.
42 x 30cm giclée print on acid-free cotton paper in archival inks.
The corn dolly is a traditional symbol of the harvest, from pagan cultures across Europe. The last sheaf of corn, wheat or barley would be used to create a feminine figure, that would then be embodied by the spirit of the harvest over the Winter time and into the following Spring.
Corndollies can take many forms. Each form represents a different season of life, from the Maiden to the Oracle.
Original drawing created in fine-line pen by Felicity Inkpen in 2024. Exhibited at the Sett Studios Flawd Foik exhibition.
